چکیده

To discriminate between the effect of charge and temperature as the main cause of structural changes in nanotube-based field-electron emitters, we performed molecular dynamics simulations of charged singleand multiwall carbon nanotubes under realistic conditions. Our results indicate that cap-terminated nanotubes disintegrate abruptly under critical emission conditions. Disintegration, involving either desorption of cap fragments or a transformation into carbon chains and graphitic flakes, occurs prior to melting and is accelerated by Coulomb repulsion that destabilizes the charged tip.

Different Electric Vehicle Charging Strategies to avoid Reducing the Insulation Oil Lifetime of Distribution Transformers

Abstract: The widespread presence of uncontrolled electric vehicles causes overloading of distribution network equipment. One of these equipments is distribution transformer, which should pay attention to overloading and reducing lifetime of this equipment due to charging of electric vehicles. First, strategies have been proposed to investigate the effect of electric vehicle penetration level a...

Self-heating effect modeling of a carbon nanotube-based fieldeffect transistor (CNTFET)

We present the design and simulation of a single-walled carbon nanotube(SWCNT)-based field-effect transistor (FET) using Silvaco TCAD. In this paper, theself-heating effect modeling of the CNT MOSFET structure is performed and comparedwith conventional MOSFET structure having same channel length. The numericalresults are presented to show the self-heating effect on the I...

Validation of Shell Theory for Modeling the Radial Breathing Mode of a Single-Walled Carbon Nanotube (RESEARCH NOTE)

In this paper, the radial breathing mode (RBM) frequency of single-walled carbon nanotube (SWCNT) is studied based on the thin shell theory. For this purpose, SWCNT is considered as an elastic thin cylindrical shell. The dynamic equation of RBM is derived using the Hamilton’s principle. An analytical solution of the RBM frequency of SWCNT is obtained. The advantage of this formulation is that i...
